Student Success Statement

"If you do what's right, if you live the right way, you'll be taken care of."

- Rachel Castillo

Reflection:

I agree with this student success statement, which shows us the way to properly live. There are three main reasons as in why I agree wit this quote and I will list them. First it talks about something that although is being said everyday not everyone pays attention to it, which is doing what is right. Many people are tolled to do the right thing on a daily basis but they ignore it, I believe society will be better if everyone did the right thing. At least half of the world's problems will be gone if every single person in the entire world would do that. Second thing is that when you do what's right it will pay off later. This is true because  for example if you do something nice for someone else when they need it the most, when you're down they will most likely help you. Good karma will come back to you when you most need it. So for now just try to be as nice as you can to everyone and do what is best for everyone else as well. The last point I want to make is that you shouldn't expect a financial reward after doing a good thing. You shouldn't do something for the money, you should do it because it's right. Believing you will get a financial reward is bad thing because if you don't get one you'll get mad; you will probably not want to do more nice things at the end because you didn't get a reward. For example Rachel Castillo found $36,000 which is what she makes in around an entire year at work and instead of keeping it she gave it to the owner. She decided that it was better to do what was right, instead of what was easier for her. Although she did not get any kind of financial reward, she felt good about it and most likely good karma will come back to her. Those are the reasons why I agree with this student success statement.

There is a quotation on the webpage that emphasis the point that if you live a virtuous life and would be emphatic towards others then you would live a good life at the end of the day. You can get to know about this weblink better if you go in detail. Those who do bad actions find something similar waiting for them in the longer run.

Daily Student Success Statement

"The most important thing you will ever have is good values." -Dennis Prager Reflection:  I agree with the fact that having good values should be everyone's priority. The first thing that should come to people's mind when they think of something that should be a top priority, is good values. Many people may think that money, health, happiness, or love are more important, but they are not. Although it's better to have money than to not, it still isn't as important as having good morals. Health is good because it keeps you alive, but having health and no good values is not a really good thing. Happiness and love are good but without good values you probably won't receive any of it. So know that although the other options seem better, they are actually not. It is better to be nice, honest, loyal and helpful than rich and healthy but mean and selfish. So like Dennis Prager said without good values, money, happiness, and love are not that good.

Student Success Statement "A man without a goal is like a ship without a rudder."        -Thomas Carlyle Reflection: I agree with this student success statement. If you have no goals then you are not going to go anywhere in life. Like a ship if you don't have something to help you go the right way, then you will get lost. You need to have guidance and a goal to achieve  and to get to. If you stand there waiting like a ship for something to happen, then most likely it is something you do not want to happen or simply you did not get what you were hoping for. If you stand there like a ship without a rudder the wind will take you a way in which you did not want to go; it might lead you to jail, poverty , drugs, and other bad things. Although the wind might not always take you to a bad place, chances of getting  where you want increase when you set goals for yourself. By setting goals for yourself you are building your desirable  future. The...

Student Success Statement  Eight Great Reasons to Tell the Truth Barbara A. Lewis Telling the truth lets everyone know what really happened. There's less chance of misunderstanding, confusion, or conflict. Telling the truth protects innocent people from being blamed or punished. Telling the truth allows everyone to learn from what happened. You usually get into less trouble for telling the truth other than for lying (and getting caught).  Other people trust you more when you tell the truth. You don't have to tell (and remember) more lies to keep your story straight. You gain a reputation for being truthful - a trait most people value. Telling the truth helps you feel secure and peaceful inside.  Reflection: I believe these eight reasons are great reasons to never lie. My favorite reason is the one that says that if you don't lie you protect the innocent for taking any blame or punishment. For example if you are at home and you break your m...
