Duties and Responsibilities: 

Perform surgery and related procedures on the hard and soft tissues of oral and maxillofacial regions to treat diseases, injuries, or even defects. They may also diagnose problems of the oral and maxillofacial regions. It is also their responsibility to perform surgery when requested by a patient to improve function or appearance.

Salary:

The average salary of an oral and maxillofacial surgeon as of 2016, is about $232,870 a year. Which is a higher salary of the one of an average orthodontist in 2016 which was $228,780 that year alone. 

Education:

Oral and maxillofacial surgeons must complete a four-year hospital based surgical residency program after dental school. They may also chose to earn a medical or other advanced degree of their need. 

Demand for this particular career:

Must be able to work in big hospitals and clinics. Most should have strong leadership skills. Must be detailed oriented. As well as having steady hands as well as stamina. Should also be able to handle stress properly.

Reflection:

No, I would not like to be an oral and maxillofacial surgeon. This is because I don't like watching, doing, or having a surgery done on me. Although they do make a good amount of money, I am not interested in becoming a surgeon of any kind.
