Daily Student Success Statement

"Associate yourself with men of good quality if you esteem your own reputation; for `tis better to be alone than in bad company." - George Washington

Reflection:

I think the student success statement by George Washington is correct. This is because associating with good people brings good things. If you talk with people who whine a lot and complain about your post then those people are a bad influence. They are a good influence, they'll stop you from doing bad stuff, and they'll hep you. But if you hang out with bad people bad things will happen. For example they can influence you to drink or smoke. They may also use you to help them. They won't help you when you need help. It's better to be alone and not go to parties instead of hanging out with bad people.

Daily Student Success Statement

"The most important thing you will ever have is good values." -Dennis Prager Reflection:  I agree with the fact that having good values should be everyone's priority. The first thing that should come to people's mind when they think of something that should be a top priority, is good values. Many people may think that money, health, happiness, or love are more important, but they are not. Although it's better to have money than to not, it still isn't as important as having good morals. Health is good because it keeps you alive, but having health and no good values is not a really good thing. Happiness and love are good but without good values you probably won't receive any of it. So know that although the other options seem better, they are actually not. It is better to be nice, honest, loyal and helpful than rich and healthy but mean and selfish. So like Dennis Prager said without good values, money, happiness, and love are not that good.

Student Success Statement

Student Success Statement "A man without a goal is like a ship without a rudder."        -Thomas Carlyle Reflection: I agree with this student success statement. If you have no goals then you are not going to go anywhere in life. Like a ship if you don't have something to help you go the right way, then you will get lost. You need to have guidance and a goal to achieve  and to get to. If you stand there waiting like a ship for something to happen, then most likely it is something you do not want to happen or simply you did not get what you were hoping for. If you stand there like a ship without a rudder the wind will take you a way in which you did not want to go; it might lead you to jail, poverty , drugs, and other bad things. Although the wind might not always take you to a bad place, chances of getting  where you want increase when you set goals for yourself. By setting goals for yourself you are building your desirable  future. The...

Student Success Statement  Eight Great Reasons to Tell the Truth Barbara A. Lewis Telling the truth lets everyone know what really happened. There's less chance of misunderstanding, confusion, or conflict. Telling the truth protects innocent people from being blamed or punished. Telling the truth allows everyone to learn from what happened. You usually get into less trouble for telling the truth other than for lying (and getting caught).  Other people trust you more when you tell the truth. You don't have to tell (and remember) more lies to keep your story straight. You gain a reputation for being truthful - a trait most people value. Telling the truth helps you feel secure and peaceful inside.  Reflection: I believe these eight reasons are great reasons to never lie. My favorite reason is the one that says that if you don't lie you protect the innocent for taking any blame or punishment. For example if you are at home and you break your m...
