Softball Game

Story/Reflection:

Sarah Tucholsky is a girl who is part of Western Oregon softball team. She was a senior who had never hit a home run in her entire career.  Then in one game of Western Oregon vs. Central Washington, Sarah Tucholsky finally hit a home run, but while running realized she didn't touch first base so she decided to go back. By doing so she hurt her leg and could not complete the home run. Her teammates wanted to carry her but couldn't as it was against the rules.  But Mallory Holtman and Liz Wallace from Central Washington offered to help her finish her home run by carrying her, she agreed. Thanks to them she helped her complete her first home run. / What Mallory Holtman and Liz Wallace was very thoughtful and nice. Because although Sarah was from the opposite team they decided to help her because that was the right thing. Like coach Pam Knox said that it is nice of someone to the right thing at the right time.  They didn't have to do it but because they knew it was the right thing to do they did it. Knowing that it might have hurt their team the two girls did help Sarah because they knew it was right. There should be more people like them who are not selfish anddo what's right.

Daily Student Success Statement  "Character is higher than intellect" -Ralph Waldo Emerson  Reflection: I agree with this quote, as I personally like it. This quote is saying that  having a good personality is more important than being a  smart person. So it's technically  saying that although intelligence is important, being nicer to others is more important. So it doesn't matter how smart you are, your kindness is all that matters. So if you don't go to college and not get a job and you end up homeless as long as your nice, everything will be great. So be nice, being kind matters most. It's like if they check someone's grade, and a person has an A in a class but U for behavior and another person has a B but an E in conduct, they will choose  the person with the lowest grade. So don't forget to behave well, have good character. This is all because grades shouldn't be your priority. Behavior and good character should be your priority.

Making a promise not only affects you, but also the person you made a promise to. They depend on you keeping that promise. If you do not keep that promise you might harm them or take away an opportunity from them. Not only do you harm them you also lose their trust..
