Reflection:

I agree with this quote for many reasons. One it tells you you have the power to change whatever you want in your life. It shows that everything is a choice and you don't have to stay with something that doesn't satisfy you. Like his example poverty is a choice, as you can get educated to get a good job and get out of poverty. Second it shows that you can accomplish your goals if you are educated. This quote shows how being educated can help you in life. In his example he wanted to become wealthy and get out of poverty, by reading and educating himself  Dr. Ben Carson accomplished his goal of helping society. Lastly this quote that hard work pays off. If you are studying to be something by working hard you can get your certificate, but by slacking off and ignoring assignments you may have to repeat the course or drop out of it. In Dr. Ben Carson's example, he wanted to become successful so he studied, became top of the class, and became a doctor. Those are the reasons I agree with this student success statement by Dr. Ben Carson.
