Student Success Statement

Student Success Statement "A man without a goal is like a ship without a rudder."        -Thomas Carlyle Reflection: I agree with this student success statement. If you have no goals then you are not going to go anywhere in life. Like a ship if you don't have something to help you go the right way, then you will get lost. You need to have guidance and a goal to achieve  and to get to. If you stand there waiting like a ship for something to happen, then most likely it is something you do not want to happen or simply you did not get what you were hoping for. If you stand there like a ship without a rudder the wind will take you a way in which you did not want to go; it might lead you to jail, poverty , drugs, and other bad things. Although the wind might not always take you to a bad place, chances of getting  where you want increase when you set goals for yourself. By setting goals for yourself you are building your desirable  future. The...

Student Success Statement

Student Success Statement "When you want to give up, remember that a house isn't build in a day. Like building a house, achieving a goal takes a plan, hard work, and time." -Alfredo Torres Reflection: What this means is that when you feel down, and you feel like doing something is hard, remember that it takes time. I know it may seem hard but knowing that putting all of your effort into it is good thing. The more time and dedication you put into something the better the result will be. At times you might feel like you are nowhere close to accomplishing your goal, but remember patience is key. Getting good at something is like building a house; It just doesn't happen in a day, you need a layout, materials, handwork, and patience. For example if you need to memorize a dance routine but you don't remember how it goes and you feel like you'll fail then practice and if you put enough effort you will get it.

Memorial Day

Memorial Day What is Memorial Day? It is a day on which those who died in active military service are remembered for their hard work, and their contribution of this country's citizens' well being.  When is Memorial Day each year? This holiday is celebrated every year on the last Monday of May, making this year's  Memorial Day on Monday 28, 2018. What are some ways to show honor and respect on memorial day? Many people honor those who died serving the country by visiting their cemeteries and memorials. Many volunteers place an American flag on each grave in national cemeteries.  What are a few things you will do on Memorial Day to show honor and respect?  Can try to go to a parade in a local area to pay tribute to those who have sacrificed their life for us. Also take a moment to acknowledge their work and not just ignore it.   Facts: It started with the civil war Was first known as decoration day It has it's own customs ...

Student Sucess Statement

Daily Student Success Statement  "When a deep injury is done us, we never recover until we forgive." -Alan Paton Reflection: I agree with the statement by Alan Paton. If someone does something for you, you must forgive. Forgiveness doesn't have to start right away, but it has to start somehow. If you don't forgive you'll grow old and you'll still be filled with hate for someone. Instead you should have forgiveness and enjoy a good life with no hatred . For example let's say your neighbor crashed into your car, you should forgive them eventually. Sure, at first you might be mad for what they did to your car and how much it will cost you, but eventually you should forgive them. What good does being filled with hate and not forgiving someone bring you. Instead of being bitter and mad at people, you should be happy knowing you gave them a  second chance and maybe even changed their life.
